The American Dental Association recommends dental checkups at least twice a year for everyone age five and up. However, some patients require more frequent visits to maintain optimal oral health. At your checkup, we will screen for oral cancer, scan your teeth with our cavity-finding laser, evaluate your periodontal health, and take intraoral photos and digital X-rays. Many dental conditions, gum disease, for example, have very mild warning signs that patients don’t notice prior to their dental visit. By attending regular checkups, you can prevent minor problems from escalating and potentially jeopardizing your long-term oral health.
